Franks Museum News

Two years ago the west side of the 500th block on Main Street in Hobart was a row of rapidly deteriorating buildings. The bustling commerce they once housed was a thing of the past.
But through the vision of General Tommy Franks and his selection of Hobart as the site for his proposed leadership institute and museum, these buildings have had a new beginning, and the museum and leadership institute are now realities.
The buildings have new facades and have been painted and restored to house administrative offices, a conference room, a gift shop, maintenance facilities and the General’s museum. The museum is now open to the public Fridays 1-5 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. -5 p.m., and will likely be open 6 days a week after the Grand opening on May 23rd, 2009.
The General Franks Leadership Institute is an ongoing project which began before the museum opened. The first group of leadership candidates participated in iDebate: developing leaders with General Tommy Franks at Oklahoma Christian University, and included a field trip to the General’s ranch.
Also ongoing is a mobile museum, which we call the “Road Show,” it now tours the state presenting historical and geographical exhibits of the world today to school students.
We have accomplished a great deal in a short length of time, but this would not have been possible without financial contributions from private citizens. We depend on their support to remain in operation and to develop and execute our programs.
The General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which was established for educational purposes. Financial contributions to our organization are eligible as tax deductions in accordance of the Internal Revenue Service code as they pertain to a non-profit organization.
Other types of contributions can also be considered as a tax deductible donation. For instance, we presently need, and would most appreciate the donation of a generator for the road show trailer which houses the mini-museum. It will be used to generate enough power to supply the heating and cooling systems to keep the school students comfortable when they visit inside the Road Show.
This time of year is a time for giving, and I invite and encourage you to include our organization in your financial planning. Become and remain a part of our great team of patriots as we continue our leadership programs.

Contributions can be mailed to this address:

Large or small, we appreciate them all!
