Many things make Jordan a fascinating place to visit. For those with an interest in history, it's hard to deny the beauty and historical context of Wadi Rum and the ancient city of Petra. For movie buffs, there are filming locations for "Lawrence of Arabia," "Indiana Jones" and "Transformers 2." And for the spiritually minded, there is Mount Nebo, the Dead Sea and a host of other religiously significant locales.
This great country was born, grew, and prospers today on the blood, courage, and conviction of patriotic citizens that choose to stand up for the greater good of all Americans.
Not every one makes it home. The loss of one of our brave men or women in uniform impacts the lives of buddies on the battlefield, moms, dads, brides and children – who suddenly have to live with the harsh reality of freedom’s deadly cost.
The idea for Blue Skies Notebook was birthed when Jimmy Jack Whitaker played his song, “Not Just a Name on a Wall” in his van for Carroll when the two artists met on the infield at the Texas Motor Speedway last summer. In turn, Carroll described a sketch that he’d just made for a painting telling the same powerful story. They decided a book had to be made. General Franks wrote the Foreword for Blue Skies Notebook and the project was launched.
Another historic building has been added to the General Tommy Franks Museum
Complex. The Peet Station, located just south of the current museum, is a
1930's style gas station that has been renovated with the help of the Hobart
Main Street restoration grant program and has taking on the role as an
additional showroom and consignment store for specialty items.
This unique building houses interesting historic memorabilia, many which
are for sale. Please view the photos to see some ideas of the type of items
