Celebration of Freedom Set for May 17-18 in Hobart
Festival celebrating patriotism with an array of family-friendly activities, live music and more

The General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum, along with the Hobart community, will hold its 11th annual Celebration of Freedom May 17-18 in downtown Hobart. The Celebration of Freedom will feature all types of events including a parade, silent auction, classic car show, live music, veterans spotlights and more. This event celebrates patriotism and our brave men and women in uniform will be honored as a part of every event.
On Friday, make sure to head to the Stanley Building at 300 S. Washington between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for Oklahoma’s largest silent auction benefiting the General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum. Also, visit the General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum for a tour between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Admission is free.
Saturday highlights include Museum tours, the Freedom Fest Golf Scramble starting at 9 a.m. at the Hobart Municipal Golf Course, the car show from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., motorcycle Show and Shine from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the Lil Mr. & Ms. Pageant from 12 to 12:45 p.m. Additional Saturday highlights include the Horse Shoe Tournament from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the Veterans Spotlight from 3 to 4 p.m. Children of all ages will love the kid’s activities like the Moon Jump Bounce House from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sack Races, Kiddie Car Races and more activities from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
Evening activities include the parade from 6 to 7 p.m., live music from Christian rock and country band, The New, from 7 to 8:45 p.m. and an Apache Fire Dance performance starting at 8:45 p.m.
The General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum will offer six, free cash raffles on Saturday, May 18. Raffle tickets may be picked up daily at the Museum. There will be drawings throughout the day Saturday, May 18 for a chance to win $50, and the $100 raffle drawing will be held at the Stanley Building at 5 p.m.
