“Hobart’s Hometown Heroes” on Display in Window Installation
For Immediate Release: June 29, 2020
(HOBART, Okla.) – The General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum is proud to unveil a new exhibit titled “Hobart’s Hometown Heroes,” honoring community members who made notable contributions during the Covid-19 pandemic. The display is located in the windows of Tools and Trouble Shooting at 425 S. Main in Hobart.
“General Franks asked us create an exhibit to honor frontline workers from the community in a special ‘drive-by’ exhibit as a tribute to their dedication and leadership,” said D’Lese Travis, General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum executive director. “The exhibit concept was truly a team effort of all of the staff. We asked for nominations from the community of those working in essential businesses including finance, religion, healthcare, education and first responders that live in the Hobart community. From there, we conducted one-on-one interviews to share their stories.”
The exhibit provides a glimpse into each of the essential workers’ positions and their contributions to assist during the pandemic. Highlighted are the following members of the Hobart community:
