General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum to Host Holiday Open House on December 1

(HOBART, Okla.) – The General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum will host a Holiday Open House on Thursday, Dec. 1 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in conjunction with Hobart’s Moonlight Madness and tree lighting events. Visitors are invited to the Museum to experience the unique collections and artifacts, shop the Museum Store specials and meet Museum staff members.
Museum staff will host guided tours for visitors to learn more about the history of the United States military through the Museum’s special collections. Visitors will walk through exhibits that tell the story of General Franks’ life and military career, as well as learn more about other significant periods in our nation’s history. Museum tours will be ongoing all day and admission to the Museum is always free. Light refreshments and spiced cider will be served in the Creamery Building between 5 and 8 p.m.
The Museum Store will have several special holiday shopping offers including select books signed by the author buy one get one free, logo T-shirts and polos for $1-$3, motorcycle enthusiast T-shirts and long-sleeved T-shirts for $1-$3 and long-sleeved polos and button-down denim shirts for $5-$10. The Museum Store also features autographed photos and a variety of books on leadership for any leader, Museum hats, coffee mugs and more, all perfect for holiday gifting. The Museum Store is also available online at TommyFranksMuseum.org.
“We always look forward to the holiday season and the special events in downtown Hobart,” said D’Lese Travis, executive director of the General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum. “We are excited to participate with the other downtown businesses and look forward to meeting visitors in a more intimate setting with our staff and the special opportunity to assist with holiday shopping.”
