Steven Groff Welcomed as Collections Manager at the General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum 

For Immediate Release:  Feb. 17, 2020

(HOBART, Okla.) - Steven Groff was recently welcomed to serve as collections manager at the General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum.
 
Groff joins the staff team comprised of executive director, D’Lese Travis, finance manager, Adelita Cumm and museum manager, Scott Cumm.
 
“We are delighted to add a fresh perspective to our team,” said D’Lese Travis. “Steven has extensive knowledge and experience in curating, collections care, cataloging and preventative conservation and we are excited to see him implement new practices in the Museum.”
 
Groff is responsible for keeping the collections arranged, cataloged and stored as well as improving the Museum’s capacity for preventative conservation. Groff earned a Bachelor of Arts in history at Binghamton University in Vestal, New York, and a Master of Arts in museum studies with a focus of curatorial and collections management from the State University of New York at Buffalo State in Buffalo, New York.
 
“I’ve always felt very engaged by the subject of war throughout history,” said Groff. “I took particular interest in curating weaponry in graduate school too and am happy to be working with those types of materials.”
 
The General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum is open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to noon and 1-5 p.m. Admission is free.
The General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum was created as a historical foundation dedicated to telling the story of the United States military and education.
