The General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum Showcases "Work, Fight, Give: American Relief Posters of WWII" Exhibit
For Immediate Release: May 22, 2018
The General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum will showcase their newest exhibit, “Work, Fight, Give: American Relief Posters of WWII” now through June 20. The exhibit will be on display in the traveling exhibit room and features 39 original relief posters alongside war memorabilia that will allow visitors a glimpse into our nation’s history.
Focusing on a side of war often forgotten, the “Work, Fight, Give: American Relief Posters of WWII” exhibit highlights the artistic talents of those who used their skills in photography and art to create banners, posters, programs and more in an effort to influence citizens to donate their time and resources to the war effort. The imagery used by the National War Fund to encourage aid during a tumultuous time is both visually appealing and thought-provoking.
“This exhibit is a great insight into a side of World War II not often seen,” said Scott Cumm, museum manager. “Citizens felt compelled to contribute in any way they could, and many helped the cause through their art.”
To learn more important facts in U.S. history, visit the General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum. Admission to the Museum is free. The Museum is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m.
The General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum was created as a historical foundation dedicated to telling the story of the United States military and education.
